Data Request

This service provides access to clinical data for scientific research from our electronic health record (EHR) and Enterprise Data Warehouse or Research (EDW4R).

Electronic Medical Record Search Engine (EMERSE)

EMERSE (Electronic Medical Record Search Engine) is software that helps researchers accurately find important patient details like diagnoses, medications, procedures, and complications from clinical notes.

ICTS-BMI can use this tool to identify computable phenotypes built on these unstructured data elements. EMERSE is an information retrieval tool.

External Data Sharing

A UI Health Care process to review projects that share Health Care data outside of the Health Care environment. This review process involves:

  • Checking for consistent language regarding the sharing between contracting, IRB, and the external data sharing form

  • Ensuring appropriate documents have been routed to the appropriate UI contracting organizations

  • Security review of third-party applications for data transfer or storage

  • Confirming sharing is aligned with institutional and federal policies
