Team Science: Achieving More Together

Conference Purpose

Perspectives of stakeholders across roles and disciplines are essential to create elegant and simple solutions for evidence-based care. This program will address the national call to apply team science and evidence-based practice to improve care quality. Nurses are the glue for the healthcare team across the varied settings where healthcare is delivered. Conference participants will learn strategies for applying evidence that improves team functioning, strategies to apply implementation and team science, network with EBP experts and enthusiasts, while learning cutting edge information to apply across settings. Various clinical issues will be discussed with reports on evidence-based solutions. The program is designed to meet the needs of practicing nurses, leaders, faculty and experts.

Call for Abstracts

You are invited to submit an abstract for a podium or poster presentation on

  1. Evidence-based practice (EBP)
  2. Clinical research
  3. Synthesis report
  4. Nurse residency EBP from supporting organizations.

Of particular interest are abstracts related to the conference purpose and theme as well as innovative EBP projects or topics.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • Prepare blinded abstract using the templates provided.
  • Abstract and references each limited to 500 words, headings are not counted.
  • Completed work will be considered for a podium presentation and in-progress work will be considered for a poster presentation.
  • Nurse residency coordinators may submit up to two EBP abstracts, for poster consideration, that are supported by their organization.
  • Following peer review, acceptance notices will be sent in late November.
  • Accepted presenters, maximum of two per presentation, will receive a registration discount and must both agree to submit registration payment by mid-December. All other costs and arrangements shall be assumed by the presenter(s).

ContinuingĀ education credits

Nursing continuing education credits will be available to conference attendees through the UI Hospitals & Clinics Department of Nursing, and Iowa Board of Nursing approved provider.
