Spring 2020 Research Mentor Training

The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS), in partnership with the Iowa Mentoring Academy, will sponsor a Spring 2020 Research Mentor Training seminar series for senior faculty.

Jess Fiedorowicz, MD, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry and associate director of workforce development for ICTS, will co-facilitate along with Lori Adams, PhD, associate professor of biology, and National Research Mentoring Network master facilitator.

The Entering Mentoring curricula for this series is typically disseminated over 8 hours. Six sessions will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Mondays, beginning January 27 while the seventh session on March 9 will be 2-hours in length (2 to 4 p.m.). All sessions will be held in SW44-K GH (Elevator BW, Level 4).

Note that the curriculum we use addresses the new NIGMS guidelines regarding the preparation of mentors involved in training grants. Upon completion of the mentor training series (6 out of 8 hours), we will send out recognition letters from the Iowa Mentoring Academy.
