Translational Technologies and Resources

The Translational Technologies and Resources key function provides investigators with access to and training in sophisticated, state-of-the-art technologies for clinical and translational research. The University of Iowa has many superb investigative teams and technical resources. Even before the establishment of the ICTS, some researchers had developed successful interdisciplinary collaborations that crossed departmental or collegiate boundaries. The ICTS and the Translational Technologies and Resources key function key substantially enriches and expands the number and scope of these collaborations.

This key function is responsible for:

  • Integrating core facilities
  • Tracking the availability and utilization of core resources
  • Maintaining budget and equitable cost sharing for ICTS projects
  • Facilitating changes in core technologies and resources to meet the changing needs of our clinical and translational research community
  • Promoting translational technologies and resources to increase awareness and utilization
  • Optimizing utilization of core facilities and resources.
