SEMINAR II: P Values That Pop and Graphics That Grab
If you like mathematics, statistics, or science and would like to explore how to apply quantitative methods to investigate important health issues, then the Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS) is ideal for you.
The ICTS has invited Sue Hanken, Respiratory Care Manager in Pulmonary Diagnostics/Hyperbaric Medicine, to present on the use of pulmonary testing in pediatric and adult research. Pulmonary Diagnostics and Intervention, located on 3 PFP, is a Respiratory Therapy directed clinic which offers a full range of pulmonary tests. Complete pulmonary function testing is provided and arterial blood gas analyses, including pulmonary physician interpretation, are also performed. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing with gas exchange is available with the assistance of a pulmonologist. Bronchoscopy, interventional bronchoscopic, and pleural procedures are performed by pulmonologists in the two bronchoscopy suites with or without the assistance of mobile anesthesia.
One of the critical functions of the ICTS is the training of highly motivated scholars and participating staff for careers in clinical and translational research. This is the core function of this program.
