About our Research Navigators
Kathy Lilli, ICTS Research Navigator
Kathy Lilli is the Associate Director for Clinical and Translational Resources and Services for the ICTS and oversees the clinical research coordinator group. She has been with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the past 30 years. Kathy's performance has been highly influential and she has an excellent record of coordinating well over 60 industry, PI initiated, and NIH studies. She is especially well known for establishing and building up the research coordinator group to promote clinical research success, acting as an expert consultant and troubleshooter for departmental clinical trials, and for her initiative in creating the first IRB approved PowerPoint informed consent form at the UI. Kathy has also developed and maintained essential alliances throughout the UI as liaison to the IRB, Sponsored Programs, Department of Nursing, Human Subjects Office, UIHC Compliance Office, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Gretchen Cress, Child Health Research Navigator
Gretchen Cress, RN, BSN, is our child health research navigator and the assistant nurse manager for the Clinical Research Unit and the Department of Pediatrics. Currently working on obtaining a master's degree in public health, Gretchen has well over 25 years of experience as a pediatric staff nurse with 16 years of clinical research experience. She is a member of the International Association of Clinical Research Nurses and has published various papers related to intensive care in preterm babies.
