The Analytic Laboratory is fully equipped and routinely measures various peptides and hormones by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), radioimmunoassay (RIA), enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA), and enzymatic colorimetry.
Current assays that are routinely completed include cytokines (IL-6 and TNFa), leptin, insulin, free fatty acids, c-reactive protein, angiotensin II, catecholamines and homocysteine. Other specialized assays may be developed to meet the changing needs of CRU investigators.
Current specialized assays are listed in the chart below. Sample collection procedures are detailed for each assay. All assays are provided at a reduced rate to investigators with approved University of Iowa CRU protocols. Contact Dr Daryl J Murry, CRU Laboratory Director, at 335-8157 for price information and to discuss development of new specialized assays.
