Please note that all publications resulting from research conducted in the CRU should acknowledge the NIH as follows:
Supported by NIH-NCRR 1UL1RR024979, 1KL2RR024980 & 1TL1RR024981 – University of Iowa Clinical and Translational Science Program.
The following summary can be used in grant applications to describe the facilities available at the University of Iowa Clinical Research Unit:
The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) has been providing services to University of Iowa investigators for 45 years (originally as a GCRC and currently as part of a NIH-NCRR Clinical and Translational Science Award); the current grant extends through May 2012. Research nurse and technician staffing is provided 24 hours/day in the CRU’s inpatient unit, outpatient facilities and by flex nurses elsewhere (e.g., ICUs, operating room, etc.). A dental component provides outpatient services for studies performed in the College of Dentistry. Other ICTS services available to CRU investigators include: translational technology resources (imaging; analytical laboratory; genetics and genomics; bone, pulmonary, neural, cardiovascular physiology cores; and research bionutrition services), biostatistics and informatics support, and assistance with regulatory compliance and safety plans.
